ALB Golf Outing Rules and Course Events
Each foursome can elect to play individual golf or a scramble format.
Scramble Rules
- Each player takes a shot.
- The group decides which shot they like the best and the other three players pick up their balls and hit from the same spot as the chosen ball.
- There is no limitation or requirement on who's best shot can be used.
- A prize will be awarded to each player on the scramble team with the lowest score.
Individual Rules
- Each player plays his own ball in accordance with USGA rules.
- A prize will be awarded for the low individual men’s score and the low individual women’s score.
Course Events
Pink Ball Contest - Individual golf players
Each foursome playing individual golf will be given a pink ball. The players will take turns using the pink ball in rotation to play out an entire hole - player 1 will use the pink ball for the first hole, player 2 will use it for the second hole, etc.
In addition to normal 18 hole individual scores for each player, a fifth score will be kept for the pink ball. If the pink ball is lost before the round is finished, the team forfeits the contest.
A prize will be awarded to each member of the team with the lowest pink ball score. If all teams lose the pink ball, then the team who held on to it for the most holes gets the prize.
Buy a Drive Hole
A line will be drawn across the fairway 220 yards out for men and 170 for women. Each player will have the option to buy a drive for $5. If he/she hits their drive past the mens/womens line and stays in the fairway, he/she gets double their money back. If he/she (or the scramble team) does not get past the line, they still get to drop the ball at the men’s line in the fairway.
Insurance Hole
One par 3 will be an
"insurance" hole, where each player can risk up to $20. If the player hits their ball onto the green, they get their
"premium" back. If their ball lands inside a circle marked near the hole, they get double their
"premium" back.
Closest to the Pin Hole
One par 3 will be a
"closest to the pin" hole for men and one for women. Only each player's first shot will be counted, not any mulligans. A prize will be awarded to the man and woman who hit onto the green closest to the pin.
Low Score
A prize will be awarded to the man and woman playing individually with the lowest score, and to each player on the scramble team with the lowest score.
Split the Pot
We'll have tickets for sale at $5 each - or 4 for $20. The winner of the drawing at dinner will split the pot with the Katie School of Insurance.
Mulligans
Each foursome can purchase up to 4
“mulligans” at $5 each. One player in the group
per hole can use a mulligan to take one extra shot or put.
